Thomas Tuchel introduced Trevoh Chalobah into the Chelsea team last season, and the young defender did well, as he impressed everyone with his performance and resilience.

Surprisingly, Chalobah was dropped to the bench this season by Thomas Tuchel and there were talks of a summer sale.

The 22-year-old centre-back has gotten back into the team under new boss Graham Potter, and he has been very impressive.

Chalobah has weighed his World Cup chances, and has said it would be a dream come true to play in the World Cup.

Asked by a reporter about his World Cup chances, Chalobah said: “It’s always a kid’s dream to be called up but my focus is to give my all for the club and then see what happens.

“For me, the first thing was to play for Chelsea and get myself back in the team, and I’m doing that now.

“That’s the most important thing. There are a lot of games coming up and I want to play in every single game and we’ll see the team win.

“For me, it’s just club football for me now. I never focus on anything else. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be but Chelsea is my main priority at the moment.

“Yeah, if [an England call-up] comes, I’m ready for what’s ahead.”
