Four Chelsea players have been ruled out of the game to face Manchester United this weekend.
Reece James has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after a knee injury sustained during our 2-0 victory at AC Milan. N’Golo Kante is expected to be out for four months having recently undergone surgery on his hamstring.
Wesley Fofana is also a long-term absentee, while Conor Gallagher is a doubt after being taken off at Brentford due to illness.
Aside these four, every other Chelsea player is available for this clash.
Speaking particularly on Reece James who is in a race against time to feature in the World Cup,
Potter said: “I can’t really comment because I don’t know the ins and outs but he’s taken his stance.
“Sometimes you have to do that and then you need the club to support. So on the outside that’s what’s happened.
“It’s difficult for me to comment because I don’t know the actual context, I don’t know what’s really happened. I don’t want to go off headlines and things like that.
“Part of the job is to take decisions that are difficult but that’s normal.”
