Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Brentford on Wednesday night.
It was a tight game away at Brentford, and the introduction of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the last change Blues boss Graham Potter made, as he brought on the striker on the 81st minute.
Potter has explained his reason for bringing on Aubameyang so late in the game.
Potter has said that he was merely being careful with the player’s load amid a hectic fixture schedule before the World Cup.
“Yeah, of course, but I know the reasons why,” Potter told reporters when asked if he was tempted to introduce Aubameyang earlier.
“Again, it’s the load of him, he’s played a lot, and it gives the chance for Kai to score and play, and we were close with that.
“Yeah, I understand the question.”
