Chelsea would be away to Brentford in a Premier League clash on Wednesday night.

Speaking ahead of the game, Blues boss Graham Potter has revealed that Reece James, N’Golo Kante and Wesley Fofana would be absent to face the Bees due to injury.

“It’s as we were, no problems from the weekend,” he said.

With Chelsea playing twice in the space of four days, Potter was asked if he’d start 38-year-old Thiago Silva or hand him another rest ahead of Saturday’s clash with Manchester United.

“No problems injury wise, it’s just the recovery,” Potter underlined.

“24, 48 hours, we need to make sure the recovery is right for him. I have to involve him in the conversations because he’s 38 years old. He’s a man, he knows himself better than I do.

“He’s a really important person and player for us. We have to manage him correctly, and he has to be involved in that process.”
