Kepa: Top of his game today. Made 7 saves today and pulled off brilliant back-to-back-to-back saves in the 21st minute to ensure Chelsea’s lead was intact. 9/10

Chalobah: Got another start and did okay at the back as he lasted 90 minutes on the pitch. Seeing more game time under Graham Potter. 6/10

Thiago Silva: Top class performance. Ensured the defence didn’t concede and put in crucial tackles to ensure Chelsea’s lead was safe. 8/10

Cucurella: Subbed off at half-time. Had a shaky game at the back. 4/10

Sterling: Wasn’t an easy game for him. Utilised in various positions. Struggled in the first-half, but did better in the second-half when moved to his more natural position. 5/10

Loftus-Cheek: Strong performance in midfield, and ensured that the team kept possession. His driving runs were amazing. 7/10

Kovacic: Decent performance in midfield. 6/10

Mount: Top performance. Chelsea wouldn’t have won this game without him. Capitalised on Villa’s mistake and scored a brilliant free kick for the second goal. 9/10

Chilwell: Lucky not to have been shown red. Just did okay. 5/10

Havertz: Looked lost for much of the first-half. Subbed off at half-time. 4/10

Aubameyang: Not his best game. Was silent for much of the game. Subbed off before the hour mark. 5/10
