Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed up for Chelsea to play under Thomas Tuchel, but the German was unceremoniously sacked shortly after his arrival.
Aubameyang never found his feet under Tuchel, and started his Chelsea career slowly.
However, the 33-year-old striker is now looking his best and has scored in three consecutive appearances for Chelsea.
Asked if he had done anything to improve Aubameyang’s form, Blues boss Graham Potter failed to take any credit and put it down to the player.
Potter said: “No, we’ve not done anything special, it’s all down to him.
“He has been building his fitness up. We spoke before that he came from a difficult summer so it’s been a case of building up his match minutes up and the more he gets the stronger he gets, and the more we understand him the more he understands us.
“Everyone knows his quality and it’s great for him. He looks like he is enjoying his football and scoring goals is important.”
Aubameyang seems to have broken the No. 9 curse at Chelsea, and the striker himself has said he doesn’t care about those kind of talks.
He said: “I don’t know, I don’t listen to these kind of things. I love the no.9 so I took it. I’m happy with that and hopefully I can score more goals.”
