Chelsea manager Graham Potter has revealed that he’s happy with how he was able to rotate his squad for the game against Wolves last weekend.
Potter made seven changes to the Chelsea team that started against Wolves, and they still got a 3-0 victory.
Ahead of facing AC Milan, Graham Potter has revealed that his decision paid off as the players are feeling fresh to face AC Milan.
Chelsea are away to AC Milan for a crucial Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
Graham Potter said: “The fact that we could rotate a few has probably helped us in terms of availability for this game, and hopefully the freshness.
“We are going to really need that as it will be a tough match, a really physically demanding game.”
Potter is more pleased with the fact that he can rely on Thiago Silva for this crucial game at the San Siro, as he was rested against Wolves.
He said: “Thiago was okay when we played AC Milan but he just got a little bit worse as the week went on.
“Because there was only two days in between the games it made no sense to play him again. But he’s recovered well, and he’s been incredibly impressive on and off the pitch. As a leader, he’s a top professional, and a top person so he’s been a joy to work with.”
