Chelsea started the season slowly, and new owner Todd Boehly ended up sacking Thomas Tuchel and replaced him with Graham Potter.

Potter seems to be having a good effect on the team, as Chelsea grinded out points in the first two games, to beating AC Milan and Wolves 3-0 apiece.

Following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel, various pundits and computer predictions claimed Chelsea won’t make top four this season. The Blues were seen as outsiders, while struggling Liverpool were even given better ratings.

Slowly but steadily, Chelsea are moving back up to the top, and are now 4th on the standings having played a game less.

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has hailed Graham Potter for a fine job so far.

Nicol told ESPN: “Every manager – especially a new manager – wants to get some wins on the board and that’s three from three now.

“At Chelsea you’re expected to win but you’re also expected to play good football. That’s why Potter will be delighted, because they’re playing nice football and winning games.

“You can’t ask for more than that. He made lots of changes but they still won very comfortably. As well as they played, you have to say Wolves were so poor and it’s worrying times for them.”
