The Chelsea players had their final training session on Monday before travelling to Milan for the Champions League clash against Serie A heavyweights AC Milan.

The trio of Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante and Kai Havertz missed the team’s final training session.

As expected, Fofana is out injured, while Kante is still recuperating. It’s yet to be seen why Havertz missed the session, and Chelsea boss Graham Potter will make that revelation in his press conference later this evening.

Havertz scored the opening goal for Chelsea in the 3-0 win over Wolves on Saturday, in what was a heavily rotated line-up.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has admitted that he can’t rely on 11 players all season.

He said: “It’s credit to the players because there’s a good group here. I don’t think we can succeed with just 11 players.

“I don’t think it’s right just to keep 11 going until they fall down and get injured or whatever and then we play the next ones, as I don’t think that’s good for the group dynamic.”
