Dutch legend Marco van Basten has told Hakim Ziyech to leave the club in January.

Ziyech has been subjected to just two Premier League appearances this season, and both have been as a substitute.

The former Ajax star was linked with a summer move to AC Milan having struggled for games under Thomas Tuchel, but it didn’t work out.

It has gone from bad to worst this season, and the Moroccan doesn’t seem to be in Graham Potter’s plans as well.

Ziyech has now been told by Van Basten to leave the club in January.

“There is another transfer window coming up,” Van Basten told Ziggo Sport.

“It is sad and a shame. Ziyech is a great player. We have to see someone like that, we watch TV for such a player and we come to the stadium.

“It is a pity for the whole of football that he is on the bench. If these kinds of players do not get minutes, it is not good for football.”
