Former Chelsea left-back Scott Minto, has advised Chelsea to let go of Blues midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The France international has struggled over the past two years with injuries, and the 31-year-old only just returned from a muscle injury.
Kante has less than a year left in his Chelsea deal, and has turned down a recent offer from the club.
According to reports, Kante turned down Chelsea’s offer of two years with the option of a third, as he wants a four year contract which was also given to 31-year-old Kalidou Koulibaly.
Nevertheless, former Blue Minto has told Chelsea that it’s time to let Kante leave the club if he won’t take the current offer.
Quizzed about what Chelsea should do about Kante, Minto told talkSPORT: ‘He’s 31, he’s a superb player and when he’s fit I still don’t think there’s anyone better.
“You go back to that Tottenham game where Chelsea outplayed Spurs and Spurs nicked it, he was absolutely superb.
“But one, he’s not always fit, and two, when you’re the wrong side of 30, I don’t think you can ask for four-year contracts. You simply can’t, you get a two-year at best.
“So if he’s demanding that and it’s that or nothing, then I think Chelsea have to let him go.”
