Rio Ferdinand reveals what Chelsea’s 3-0 win over AC Milan means for Graham Potter

Chelsea started tonight’s game against AC Milan bottom of Group E, having only picked up a point from two games.

However, the Blues moved to second place after a 3-0 victory over the Italian champions.

Speaking on BT Sport, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand admitted that there was massive pressure on Chelsea, but the victory would bring some calm to Graham Potter’s side.

Ferdinand said: “There was pressure on Chelsea tonight because they haven’t been great in the Champions League. You have to get the points on the board at home.

“They didn’t just win, they were even able to rest some players towards the end ahead of this weekend’s game.

“Momentum is key and they’re starting to build that I think. The crowd will be happy with what they saw today. It’s another step in the right direction.”
