Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea, but has so far rejected a new offer from the club.
The France international wants a longer period than what Chelsea is offering, but the Blues are wary of Kante’s future amid his injury problems.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson has told Chelsea to rather cash in on the Frenchman who earns £290k a week.
“Chelsea should possibly cash in on N’Golo Kante,” Johnson told BoyleSports.
“He’s been linked with many clubs that might want him. They’re struggling to agree on a deal with him too.
“If Kante wants to stay and play then I’m sure Chelsea will want him to. But there’s always a business decision when a player might want too much, or the club is giving them too little – then they should shake hands and part ways.”
Regarding Christian Pulisic, Glen Johnson has told Chelsea to keep the 23-year-old American star.
He added: “I certainly think he has the ability to reignite his career at Chelsea.
“We hear all the time, when new managers come in they go around to everyone and say, ‘everyone is starting fresh and everyone has a chance to impress’.
“He’s capable of impressing, no manager is going to let go of a player who he thinks can help the team.”
