Chelsea manager Graham Potter has admitted that Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell is frustrated with his lack of playing minutes.

Summer signing Marc Cucurella has featured more than Chilwell in games, as the England international had only just returned from a long-term injury.

Speaking on Chilwell, Potter said: “I’ve been really impressed with him.

“I think his attitude has been fantastic.

“Of course he is frustrated not to play, but at the same time he is intelligent enough to know he has had a horrible injury and it is about step by step, getting back to full fitness.”

Chilwell recently played 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Brighton, and Potter admits that the left-back is in a good physical state.

“I have no doubt about him physically, it is just he needs to be ready to play, I am sure he will be,” Potter admits.

“He is an important member of the team, that is how I see it.”
