It has been 23 days since Graham Potter was appointed as Chelsea manager, but the 47-year-old has only managed Chelsea for one game – the Champions League game against RB Salzburg.
The new boss is yet to handle a league game in charge of Chelsea, as two of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures were postponed following the passing away of the Queen.
The wait for a first league game for Graham Potter is finally over, with Chelsea to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The new boss was asked if it had been a good or bad thing to have all that time without playing, and he admitted it was a mixture of both.
“Probably a bit of both,” he replied.
“We’ve used the time to get to know people in an environment where there aren’t games. At the same time we’re itching to go and play. That’s when you learn a lot and make progression.
“We couldn’t control everything in terms of how it’s panned out with the cancellations, so we’ve just had to make the most of it and now we’re looking forward to starting.”
