Todd Boehly’s led new Chelsea leadership have started their term with a ruthless shake-up at Chelsea.
The new owners have reportedly sacked long-serving head physiotherapist Thierry Laurent, and following the departure of Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech, there’re also more vacant roles.
Matt Law has now revealed the club’s plans to fill up vacant positions.
He wrote: “Chelsea will make appointments in the medical department and I’m told they are currently now looking appointing both a sporting director and a technical director with discussions happening with individuals over both roles.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report that Laurent was told of his sack during the international break via a ‘short zoom call’ on Tuesday.
The news came out of the blue, as medical director Dr Paco Biosca also left Stamford Bridge after 11 years.
According to The Athletic, Laurent was ‘shocked’ by the decision and was informed during the zoom call that the new owners want to bring their own person in.
The new Chelsea’s owners intend to reshape the medical department at the club.
