Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Chelsea made a £77.4m bid for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, which was rejected by the German side.
Chelsea went on to sign Wesley Fofana for around £70m before deadline day.
Gvardiol has now admitted that although he’s happy at Leipzig, he could consider a transfer in the winter window if Chelsea comes knocking again.
He said: “I’m happy at Leipzig, I still have a lot to learn and need to work on myself.
“I have people who deal with it, I didn’t think about a transfer. We’ll see what happens in the winter.
“I feel great, I’m healthy. I was a little behind at the beginning of the season due to rehabilitation.
“Now I’m waiting for the opportunity and minutes and I’m trying to use them in the best possible way.”
Meanwhile, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, has ruled out any possible departure for the 20-year-old defender who can play as a centre-back and left-back.
He said recently: “Josko still has a contract with us until 2026. We assume that he will not only play with us this season, but also next season as well.”
