Chelsea owner unhappy with Marina Granovskaia for failing to sign this Real Madrid star

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is frustrated former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia passed up the opportunity to sign Aurelien Tchouameni while he was still at Monaco.

Tchouameni joined Real Madrid from Monaco during the summer transfer window for €100million and has become a key player for the European and Spanish champions.

He has appeared in 584 minutes across Real Madrid’s nine matches and has given two assists for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, fitting in well.

According to Sport, Chelsea had the opportunity to sign Tchouameni for just €35million in the summer of 2021 but were unsure he could perform right away and instead opted to sign Saul Niguez for an unsuccessful loan spell from Atletico Madrid.

Boehly, who bought Chelsea from former owner Roman Abramovich during the summer, was greatly irritated when he became aware that Chelsea passed up the opportunity to sign Tchouameni.

Chelsea’s loss is definitely Real Madrid’s gain as the France international has become an important player for Carlo Ancelotti this season.
