Chelsea paid huge money to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.

The Blues paid a massive £70m fee to sign up the 21-year-old this summer.

Fofana had recovered from an injury that kept him out of action for several months, and Todd Boehly wanted to be sure of the young defender’s state of health before spending such a fee on his signature.

Chelsea flew Fofana to New York for his medicals instead of London, which led to some pundits questioning the decision.

Fofana has revealed what went down during the medical as several parts of his body was checked, and hinted that even his genitals.

“I thought I was going to do it in London and then I found out that it would be carried out in New York City! It was an express visit, but I spent a long time at the clinic,” Wesley Fofana told GFFN.

“It was the [LA] Lakers doctor who supervised all the tests, he looked at everything. They examined my ankle; everything was analysed, even parts of the body that I can’t talk about in order to see how I had recovered from my injury.

“It lasted over 10 hours! It’s normal given the amount of money spent on me. Todd [Boehly] and Behdad [Eghbali] were great.

“They welcomed me in London and in New York like a member of their own family.”
