Graham Potter was named as Chelsea boss this week after Thomas Tuchel was surprisingly sacked by Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly.
Boehly expects Potter to guide Chelsea to a top four finish this season along with a run deep into Europe’s top competition.
However, should Chelsea fail to finish in the top four, the Chelsea co-owner Boehly intends to stick with Potter, according to Daily Mail. The Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital consortium that now own Chelsea are preparing for the long-term with Potter and also the club.
Potter has been handed a five-year contract and is also understood to have been told that he will get the time he needs to make things work. Potter left Brighton fourth in table, three points clear of Chelsea in sixth.
