Spezia manager Luca Gotti has promised Chelsea fans that he will look after youngster Ethan Ampadu and use him in the right way this season.

Ampadu is highly-rated at the club and had spent the past three years away on loan developing his game.

Ampadu played for Italian side Venezia last season. There were hopes he’d be part of the Chelsea team this season, but Ampadu joined Spezia on a season-long loan deal.

Chelsea have a keen interest on this loan, and have instructed the Serie A side to rather use Ampadu as a centre-back than a defensive midfielder or wing-back.

Spezia manager Luca Gotti, has now vowed to use Ampadu rightly.

“Chelsea think he is a great prospect. I will try to employ him in the best way,” Citta Della Spezia report him saying.

“Tomorrow he will be available, I am confident of using him and playing him on the defensive line.

“It wasn’t so much with Tuchel that there was a talk about it, it was and is with the club in general.”
