Chelsea were linked with a handful of managers following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday.
Two names that were linked with the job were Mauricio Pochettino and Ruben Amorim.
Boehly put in a phone call to the Portuguese coach, Amorim – one of European football’s highest-rated young managers.
Chelsea eventually settled for Graham Potter.
Amorim who was linked with the Chelsea job has now said that he’s happy where he’s at.
Asked about the rumoured contact from Chelsea, the Sporting Lisbon coach told O Jogo: “The project I am in is the project I want.
“I have another year and a half of contract; Chelsea have presented a coach for the next five years.
“I am happy here and I am not thinking about another project.”
