His first 20 minutes were outstanding – Chelsea hero backs top player to shine at Chelsea

Chelsea signed up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on transfer deadline day, and former boss Thomas Tuchel gave the 33-year-old his debut in the Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb.

Aubameyang got into a number of threatening positions against the Croatian side, and had a goal that was ruled out for offside.

Chelsea hero Gus Poyet has admitted he was impressed by Aubameyang’s performance and claimed that the 33-year-old will be important for Chelsea this season.

“I thought his first 20 minutes were outstanding, the movements, the way he ran in behind, the timing, I thought he would score three that game, then Chelsea lost,” Poyet told Midnite.

“Aubameyang is a top striker, when you’re in control of a game and players like Mount can find him, he will score goals.
