Chelsea are currently without a manager following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel as the Blues manager on Wednesday morning.
Todd Boehly and his team aren’t keen on leaving the position of head coach vacant for a while, and aren’t interested in appointing an interim manager.
Reports now have it that Graham Potter who’s the leading candidate for the job has verbally agreed terms with Chelsea to become the new Blues boss.
Potter is yet to sign a contract with Chelsea but confirmed reports claim that the 47-year-old has verbally agreed to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
It’s understood that Chelsea are also willing to meet the £12 million release clause in Potter’s contract with Brighton.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that the deal will be completed in the coming hours.
He wrote on Twitter: “Graham Potter will be appointed as new Chelsea manager, as expected. Agreement in place, contracts now being prepared as proposal has been accepted. Here we go. #CFC
