Chelsea snapped up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on transfer deadline day from Barcelona.

With Chelsea struggling for goals this season, Thomas Tuchel decided to sign former player Aubameyang.

Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has admitted Aubameyang is a good signing and has backed the Gabonese to do well for Chelsea.

Cole said: “Aubameyang is an outstanding player. When you’re looking for a short-term option, he was the name that jumped out.

“He does everything Chelsea needs – he gets on the shoulder, he’s a finisher, he’s a proven goal scorer. It’s a great bit of business.”

Meanwhile, speaking after the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, Thomas Tuchel refused to say anything about the new striker.

Asked about his new striker, Tuchel said: “I will not talk about individuals today.

“We play as a team, we lose as a team. That’s what it is.”
