Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa is set for a return to the Premier League.

Costa is a free agent after his latest spell with Atletico Mineiro, having previously left Chelsea for Atletico Madrid.

With Costa now a free agent, Wolves can sign him outside of the summer transfer window, which closed on Thursday at 11pm.

Costa has a medical with Wolves on Tuesday as he nears a return to the Premier League.

Costa was a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge as he helped Chelsea win two Premier League titles and the League Cup and was named in the 2014-15 PFA Team of the Year.

Costa scored 59 goals in 120 games at Stamford Bridge.

Costa’s impending return to the Premier League comes after fellow Brazilian and former Blue Willian made a return to the Premier League, to play for Fulham.
