Chelsea striker Armando Broja has signed a new long-term deal with Chelsea that will keep him at the club till 2028.

The 20-year-old has seen his stock rise after a successful season on loan with Southampton last season.

Broja expressed his delight upon signing the contract extension, and vowed to fight for the Chelsea shirt.

“I’m lost for words really just thinking about it. It’s the club I’ve dreamed of playing for my whole life, the club that I support and the club that I love.

“I’ve been here since I was a boy so it’s a surreal feeling for me and my family. To be able to put on the blue shirt with the first team is a dream come true.

“It’s amazing every minute that you get to play on the pitch because this is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“There’s always competition and everyone wants to play so I’m just happy that I have the opportunity to be a part of it. Hopefully I get to play a lot of matches and be a part of the team’s success.

“I remember meeting Drogba. He’s one of my idols. It was a surreal moment for me to see all those players walking out of the dressing room. I was standing there like ‘Woah’. I watch these guys on the TV all the time.

“To have a very strong mentality. When you have players in the team like Azpilicueta, who help you. He’s always so welcoming, helping out, taking the pressure off you. He’s a really good guy, helping me from 2018 to now.

“I’ve got to keep going. Going up that steep slope that everyone says. Not everyone will have the prettiest path to the top. You have to remain focused, do everything you can for the club and the fans.

“I want to play a big part in repaying Chelsea because they’ve done a lot for me. I also want to do a lot for them, the club and the fans. I want to keep going, make so many more memories in a blue shirt. It’s been really good so far.”
