Chelsea striker Michy Batshuay was left in limbo after a move to Nottingham Forest fell through transfer deadline day.
The Belgium international had been out on loan five times and was now set to move to Nottingham Forest with just a year left on his contract.
The 28-year-old Belgian was heading to the City Ground to finalise his transfer, only for the deal to fall through late last night.
According to Sky Sports, the deal fell through at the last minute because the documents were not sent by Chelsea on time.
Batshuayi was looking to end a difficult tenure at Chelsea, where he joined in 2016, having made 77 appearances and scoring 25 goals, but he’s currently stranded.
According to the reports, Chelsea will not be able to add Batshuayi on their squad list, following the signings of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria.
The only option left is for Batshuayi to move to countries such as Belgium, Greece or Turkey should an offer arrive for him.
