Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is close to sealing a transfer to Nottingham Forest.

Batshuayi who was part of Antonio Conte’s title winning season is still a Chelsea player, and the 28-year-old has spent the last few seasons out on loan.

A deal with Chelsea for the striker’s transfer is ‘almost done’ and should be completed before the window ends on 11 PM BST.

He scored 14 goals in 33 appearances in a loan spell with Besiktas last season and Forest are ready to take a gamble on him.

Batshuayi made 77 appearances for Chelsea, and scored 26 goals.

Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu has sealed a season-long loan to Italian Serie A side Spezia having spent last season on loan with Venezia.

The club statement read: “The 21-year-old spent the previous campaign in the Italian top flight, on loan with newly-promoted Venezia, where he made 29 league appearances, predominantly in the centre of midfield.

“The highlight of his time in Venice arrived when he set up a dramatic winning goal as the Lagunari came from behind to beat Roma 3-2 at home, but he was not able to help Venezia retain their Serie A status.”

Chelsea and Brighton have also reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of young midfielder Billy Gilmour for £9m.

The two clubs came to an agreement for a permanent deal because the Premier League rules stipulate that you can only loan no more than one player from the same club.

Brighton have already signed Levi Colwill on a loan move and so there was no possibility for the same for Gilmour.
