Former Blue reveals what will happen with Reece James and Wesley Fofana in the same team

Chelsea are set to complete the deal for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.

Leicester City and Chelsea have agreed a fee for the 21-year-old centre-back who’s so keen on joining Chelsea.

Indeed, it took a mammoth £75m bid to sign up Fofana, as the club had seen three previous bids rejected.

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Green has said that the arrival of Fofana will bring out the the best in Reece James.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel tend to deploy James as a right centre-back in some games to curb the attacking threat of certain teams.

However, with Fofana, James will now have ample time to explore down the flank.

“[Chelsea] are playing catch-up and have to pay the money,” Green told the BBC.

“They will get a great player. He immediately ticks the boxes and is also one of the future.

“Reece James’ quality is on the ball. Wesley Fofana ticks a box for the centre-half position but also strengthens elsewhere as James can go forward.”
