According to reports, Chelsea are considering terminating the contract of midfielder Ross Barkley.
Barkley had spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Aston Villa but struggled afterwards, after a fine start to his loan term.
Barkley struggled for playing time last term, as he started only one Premier League game for Chelsea.
Despite being part of Chelsea’s pre-season, Barkley has not been included him in any of four Chelsea matchday squads this season.
Barkley isn’t part of Tuchel’s plans for the season, and there have been no interest in the 28-year-old midfielder so far.
The Daily Mail has claimed that Chelsea are considering whether to pay off Barkley’s contract before the transfer window closes.
Barkley earns a contract of £96,000 a week which expires next summer.
Chelsea are considering terminating his contract in order to make way for Anthony Gordon.
Barkley has scored 12 goals and contributed 11 assists in 100 appearances for Chelsea.
