Chelsea have finally reached an agreement with Leicester City to sign Wesley Fofana.

The Blues had seen three bids rejected for Fofana, but a fourth bid has now finally been successful.

The third bid which was rejected earlier this week was worth £60million plus an extra £10m in add-ons.

Reports claim that the accepted bid for Fofana is a massive one.

According to reporter Nizaar Kinsella, the bid for Fofana might be a record fee for a defender.

The current most expensive defensive is Harry Maguire – with Manchester United having to pay Leicester City £80m for his transfer.

Meanwhile, Fofana had helped force the deal to happen as he was keen to move to Chelsea despite Leicester City’s insistence on not selling him.

The French centre-back had made it clear he was keen to leave Leicester amid interest from the Blues, and he was left out of the Foxes team for the game with Southampton last weekend as a result.

Chelsea have since agreed personal terms with Wesley Fofana, which will make the deal for the 21-year-old move smoothly.
