Chelsea are in panic – Arsenal legend slams Chelsea’s transfer strategy

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has slammed Chelsea’s decision to sign former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang had an impressive time with the Gunners, as he scored 92 goals and claimed 21 assists in 163 games in all competitions for Arsenal.

Thomas Tuchel is in search of a striker and a goalscorer who can link play with the other forward players rather than a conventional striker.

The Blues have let go of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer, but former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit doesn’t think this is a good move for Chelsea.

According to Petit, Chelsea have shown a lack of vision in this summer’s transfer market.

He told fairbettingsites.co.uk: “Auba looks more a panic buy than something the club have been thinking about for months. The transfer market is ending in a few days and Chelsea are in a panic.

“They want to buy defenders, strikers, but they just don’t know what they want.”

Petit also doubted if Aubameyang was in a right frame to return to the Premier League at age 33.

He added: “I don’t see the real qualities behind it, the projection in the future. If you want to spend so much on a player, you need to have a vision, but I don’t see that coming from Chelsea.

“It’s a gamble. He can score goals but he has to be fit physically and be good in his mind.”

This is what I am talking about. Tuchel has been acting as a man without vision. I think at this point what he should be doing is to harmonize the team, bring the players together, all of them, speak to them, the importance of everyone of them and what the season goal is. We don’t need no players to me but just a striker or better still, go on with Borga and Belgian guy. They’re just clueless..
