Chelsea’s move to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems to be gathering momentum, as the Gabonese has played what looked like his last game for Barcelona.

After Barcelona’s friendly game with Manchester City on Wednesday night, Aubameyang bade what looked like a farewell wave to Barcelona fans after the game.

Barcelona had rejected a bid of £12m from Chelsea just last, but the Blues have tabled an improved bid.

Spanish newspaper AS are reporting that negotiations have accelerated in recent hours and all parties feel a deal could be completed very quickly.

According to their report, Chelsea will pay a total package worth £21m for Aubameyang, which is significantly more than the club’s opening bid but also less than the £25m Barcelona were initially demanding.

According to AS, Aubameyang’s team-mates suspect he has trained with the club for the last time.

Aubameyang reported to Barca’s Ciutat Esportiva complex on Thursday morning for a light session after their friendly game with Man City.

The Barcelona players have been given Friday off and will not report back for another session until Saturday morning, and it’s suspected that his Chelsea deal may have been sealed by then.

Spanish transfer expert Gerard Romero showed footage of Aubameyang arriving at Barcelona airport early on Thursday afternoon.

Aubameyang is believed to be flying to Paris to spend time with his family and may not have to report back to Barcelona’s training complex until Saturday morning.

It is thought that Aubameyang could fly straight from the French capital to London once Chelsea’s deal has been given the green light.
