Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has slammed Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana who’s pushing to join Chelsea.
Chelsea have seen three bids rejected for Fofana, and the 21-year-old is trying to force Leicester to endorse a sale.
Fofana missed Leicester City’s game with Southampton having skipped training.
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has slammed Fofana’s attitude.
He said on talkSPORT: “Call it what it is. He’s refusing to play and wants to move. You sign the contract.
“Whatever way you say it, he’s saying, ‘My mind is not in the right place’. That to me is, ‘I’m not ready to play’.
“Rodgers is going out of his way to defend the player who doesn’t want to join the fight.”
Souness added: “I’d fall out with him. That’s possibly the wrong thing to do. At the end of the day, Brendan is walking a tightrope.
“People will be looking at him now. They’ve not had a good time, they are sitting near the bottom of the league and that’s the thing he has to deal with.
“He should be focusing on trying to win the next football match.
“That is modern management. He’s having to bend over and defend a boy who has done nothing in the game.
“Maybe he will be a top player one day, but he’s had to bend over to say, ‘Please play for me’.
“That’s how mad and out of sync football has become for me where the tail now wags the dog.
“These players sign big contracts, get paid absolute fortunes and can pick and choose when they want to play.”
But Vigil Van Dyke forced a move from South Hampton to Liverpool, four years ago and it was ok. Hypocrite!
Remember that hazard did the same but he’s not considered as best as when he was at Stamford
