Having seen two bids rejected for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana, the Blues have tabled a third bid believed to be worth £70m.
However, Leicester City have as well rejected Chelsea’s third bid for Fofana.
Reports claim that the Foxes are holding out for at least £80m.
According to The Telegraph, Leicester City snubbed Chelsea’s latest bid as they consider the add-ons ‘unrealistic and difficult to achieve’.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Chelsea’s third bid for Fofana was rejected.
Rodgers said after Leicester’s Carabao Cup win over Stockport County: “The club told me this [Tuesday] afternoon. I don’t know too much detail around it because I’ve been concentrating on the game.
“I believe there was another bid and that it was rejected, but nothing more I can tell you on that.”
Fofana has made it clear he wants the move to Stamford Bridge and the Frenchman was left out of the Foxes squad in their 2-1 defeat at home to Southampton on Saturday.
The 21-year-old recently signed a long-term contract with Leicester City, so he may not have much power over his transfer, even though he has agreed personal terms with Chelsea.
