Thomas Tuchel has bemoaned the striking situation that has happened at Chelsea for many years now.
Many top strikers have struggled at Chelsea over the past two decades.
With Chelsea linked with a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Tuchel has backed the coming striker to succeed at the club.
When asked if penalties should be given to the strikers, Tuchel admitted he won’t want to take away the role from Jorginho.
“This can also sometimes increase the numbers dramatically if you give these nine or 10 penalties to a striker,” Tuchel mused.
“It suddenly looks on the statistics much better but who would take a penalty away from Jorginho? We want to win in the end and he’s a fantastic penalty taker.”
Tuchel backed the next Chelsea striker to be confident of succeeding at Chelsea.
“Strikers are a very special breed in football,” he added.
“They are very sensitive but also very self-confident so I think any striker would like to be the guy to break that struggle.”
