Chalobah decision a strange one for Chelsea

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is being linked with a summer transfer move to Italian Serie A side Inter Milan.

The 23-year-old has not played for Chelsea this season, and with Chelsea planning to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City, it would move Chalobah further down the pecking order.

Chalobah is said to be keen on an exit, and according to The Athletic, Chelsea are prepared to sanction a loan move for Trevoh Chalobah.

The Chelsea academy graduate has attracted interest from the Premier League and Serie A clubs, but it’s Inter Milan who are leading the race for his signature.

The club sees Chalobah’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge and has no plans to sell the player.

However, even a loan deal at this point wouldn’t make any sense.

It’s going to be a long season, and Thomas Tuchel would need as many hands as possible.

Even if Fofana is signed, letting go of Chalobah would mean Chelsea would be lacking in quality backup.

Bearing in mind that Chelsea have three centre-backs who are all over 30, Chelsea do not really have many options in defence.

This is crazy, everyone wants to leave Chelsea and all you got is the manager and new owner sanctioning the deal. This is quite absurd. It doesn’t make no sense. How many quality players do we’ve at hand at the moment? Christian Pulisic is going, CHO is going, Chaloba is going, Safe is gone, Time is gone, Lukaku is gone, Rudiga is gone, Christensen is gone, etc we should be thinking of replacement not letting go. Our squad is a thining one before now. Thomas has to use his mind and not his head.
