West Ham had made a move to sign Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri.

However, it seems the move has now broken down.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Emerson was close to joining West Ham but the deal seems to be off now.

Reporter Nizaar Kinsella, claims the collapse of the deal comes as a bit of a shock because an agreement for £13 million, plus £2 million in add-ons, was nearly done.

With Marcos Alonso set to leave Chelsea, Emerson would find himself as the 3rd choice left-back at the club currently behind Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell.

Emerson was sent out on loan to Lyon last season, but the French club decided against signing up the Italy international.
