Chelsea have been linked with a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to reports, Chelsea have now tabled an offer worth £22million for the forward.

Reliable Spanish journalist Gerard Romero made this claim on his Jijantes FC Twitch channel, that Chelsea have submitted their first official bid for Aubameyang and it meets Barca’s asking price.

Barcelona signed up Aubameyang in February as a free agent, with his contract with Arsenal having been terminated.

Chelsea had verbally proposed a figure of around £12m for Aubameyang but Barcelona were never going to accept that.

The Blues decided to up their offer amid speculation that Manchester United were also interested in Aubameyang.

It’s now up to Chelsea to try and convince Aubameyang over a transfer.

Speaking about Aubameyang last week, Tuchel said: “Some players stay your players because you work very, very close, Auba is one of these players. We had a very close relationship.

“Always when we played him here with Arsenal, there was always straight away this close bond. They always stay your players in a way, Auba is one of these guys.”
