Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on strengthening his frontline following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, who rejoined Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal earlier this summer.
Chelsea are targeting Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whom Tuchel know too well from their time at Borussia Dortmund.
Aubameyang joined Barcelona in the January transfer window when his Arsenal contract was terminated and he’s proven to be a top striker, scoring 11 goals in 13 starts for Barcelona.
Following Barcelona’s signing of Robert Lewandowski, it has pushed Aubameyang down the pecking order.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are also targeting Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso but they have been unable to seal a deal for the Spaniard.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both clubs are apart in their valuation for Aubameyang, with Barcelona wanting over €30m for the 33-year-old.
According to reports, talks are taking place over a part-exchange deal involving Alonso and Aubameyang.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have also joined the race to sign Aubameyang after a turbulent start to the season.
