According to reports, Chelsea are set to sign Inter Milan youngster Cesare Casadei in a £12m deal.
The Blues have been linked with the 19-year-old midfielder in recent weeks, and reports had claimed that Chelsea might miss out on the young midfielder due to interest from French club Nice, who would offer Casadei regular playing time.
However, it is Chelsea who are winning the race for Casadei who is yet to make his senior debut for Inter, but is yet widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in Italy.
Chelsea have seen two previous bids rejected for the rising midfielder, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea’s current £12m will be enough to sign Casadei.
Romano has confirmed that Chelsea and Casadei have agreed personal terms over a transfer.
When asked about Casadei’s future this summer, Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta said: “Today he’s a young talent. He still has a long way to go before he can become a top player, but we’re very proud to have him with us.
“He’s training with the first team, he’s proving to be at a very good level.
“Right now I can only talk about him in positive terms as he’s above average for his age, and after that a lot depends on him.
“It will depend how he’s able to map out his future, because apart from the technical qualities, you also have to have the personal ones which are often more important in football.”
