Chelsea have seen two big money offers rejected for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.
The Blues are keen on signing Fofana this summer, as Thomas Tuchel needs an extra centre-back signing.
Fofana himself also wants the move and is pushing the club to make it happen.
Leicester City legend Gary Lineker has now urged Fofana to stick with the club for at least one more year, after signing a new long-term contract, and also reminded the young defender of how the club stood by him when he was injured.
“Fear the worst but hope he finds it within himself to give Leicester City one more season,” wrote Lineker on Twitter as he reacted to the rumours of Fofana’s growing unrest.
“Signed a new long contract when badly injured. Another year and all the monster clubs will want you, Wesley.”
Following Leicester City’s 4-2 defeat to Arsenal over the weekend, Fofana seemed to have bade farewell to the Leicester City fans.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers, however, rejected those suggestions as he said: “Well if that’s what you need to write then you write he’s saying farewell. So that’s your story so…
Rodgers continued: “No, I think he was giving the fans a clap. I didn’t see a farewell clap. But you need to write what you need to write. That’s the story.”
