Referee Anthony Taylor has never been popular among the Chelsea fans, and his popularity at Stamford Bridge took a hit after he took charge of Chelsea’s clash against Tottenham.

Following the 2-2 draw with Spurs, aggrieved Chelsea fans have demanded Anthony Taylor never officiate a Chelsea game henceforth.

The petition, started by an account named CFC DuBois, read: “Anthony Taylor has continued to make big decisions against Chelsea over the years in big matches.

“Taylor has an agenda against Chelsea and should not be allowed to referee a game involving the club again.”

The petition listed other times where Chelsea have felt wronged by decisions made by Taylor.

Mateo Kovacic red card in FA Cup final (August 2020)

Harry Maguire’s stamp on Michy Batshuayi (February 2020)

Paulo Gazzaniga’s kick on Marcos Alonso (December 2019)

Cristian Romero pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair (August 2022)

Reece James red card against Liverpool (August 2021)

Alexis Sanchez handball in FA Cup final (May 2017)

The petition is said to have gathered well over 40,000 signatories.
