Chelsea are now keen on signing a striker before the close of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have lost Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer, and the Blues are in need of firepower in attack.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Thomas Tuchel is said to be an admirer of the Gabonese.

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has reacted to Chelsea’s transfer dealings, and is surprised that Chelsea haven’t made any plans for a striker all the while.

Gallas has hailed the move for Aubameyang, but is also surprised that Chelsea have been targeting defenders since the start of the transfer window.

“Chelsea should have known they had to sign a striker a few months ago,” Gallas told Genting Casino.

“I don’t know why they are mainly linked with defenders when Lukaku did not stay and Timo Werner did not perform well over his two years at Chelsea.

“If Aubameyang can leave Barcelona, he would be good but he only just joined them.

“I would take Aubameyang though, as he is really experienced in the Premier League, and he will fit in straight away with the players.”
