Liverpool have finished in the top four over the past six seasons in a row, as Jurgen Klopp’s side has become one of Europe’s most feared teams.
Liverpool won the 2019-20 league title – the club’s first top-flight trophy in 30 years.
Last season, Liverpool were close again to winning the league but finished just a point behind Manchester City.
Liverpool finished second in 2018-19 season, and also just one point behind Manchester City. Liverpool finished third in 2020-21 season and fourth in 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
After a 2-2 draw against Fulham in Liverpool’s first league game of the season, former Chelsea defender William Gallas has claimed that Liverpool won’t make a top four finish this term.
Gallas believes the loss of Sadio Mane will affect Liverpool, and he backed Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal to finish above Liverpool.
“As an ex-London player, I have to say Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham to win the Premier League,” Gallas told Genting Casino.
“On top four, Liverpool can miss out because they don’t have Sadio Mane anymore and Luis Diaz does not have the same impact.
“Liverpool always concede goals too, like we saw against Fulham. Even if I like how Liverpool play, I think it will be City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.”
