Chelsea paid a massive £47.5m to sign up Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
The 27-year-old England international has already impressed in his short time as a Chelsea player.
Sterling was dangerous during pre-season games, and was our liveliest player in the season opener against Everton.
Sterling can play anywhere across the frontline, and he was used as a false nine against the Toffees.
The summer signing has now admitted that his best position is playing as a winger than as a false nine.
Asked about which role he prefers at a press conference on Thursday, he replied: “As you all know, my position is mainly as a winger.
“Some of the time I enjoy floating about and getting on the ball.
“But I always judge myself on how effective I am on the games, so it depends on where I’m going to be most effective at the moment.
“The last game against Everton I played from the false nine position. And again, I’ll be most happy where I can be effective and help my team.”
