Chelsea are in need of a striker, as Thomas Tuchel has okayed the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
Lukaku returned back to Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal, while Werner is also set for a return to former club RB Leipzig.
Chelsea need a proven goalscorer, and the deal for the departing strikers didn’t turn out well at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are being linked with a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has been in fine form since he dumped Arsenal for the shores of Spain.
Former Chelsea winger Gus Poyet believes the Gabon international will do well for Chelsea.
“Aubameyang would be perfect for Chelsea,” Poyet told Lord Ping.
“He looks happy and back to his best scoring goals.”
Poyet has also revealed his surprise at the transfer battle that has gone on between Chelsea and Barcelona this summer.
“I do not know why Chelsea and Barcelona are constantly trying to sign and steal the same players from each other this summer,” Poyet said.
“Both clubs want similar players even though they are nothing alike.”
