Chelsea striker Timo Werner was spotted in Germany on Monday, as he he’s set for medicals ahead of a return to former club RB Leipzig.
The German international signed up for Chelsea in 2020 for a massive fee of £47.5m. However, Werner didn’t bring his scoring prowess to Stamford Bridge.
Although he played a key role in helping Chelsea win the Champions League success in 2021, Werner’s record of 23 goals in 89 appearances for the Blues have been far from impressive.
Werner had said some time ago that he was no longer happy at the club, as talks of his future had been on for some time now.
According to Standard Sport, Werner has fallen out with Tuchel behind closed doors, which further hastened his decision to leave this summer.
Chelsea will make a loss on the sale of Werner, as Leipzig will pay £20m to sign back their former player, plus a further £5m in add-ons.
