Three new Chelsea signings made their Premier League debut in Chelsea’s opening clash against Everton at the Goodison Park.
Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly started the game, while Marc Cucurella came on as a second-half substitute.
Sterling was very impressive all through the game, Koulibaly was solid and Cucurella who had a cameo appearance was very impressive as well.
Speaking after the game, Thomas Tuchel hailed the trio on their Chelsea debut.
“Cucurella was very strong in the last 20 minutes,” Tuchel told BBC Sport after the game.
“[He was] very safe on the ball, very intelligent in escaping pressure.
“Well done to three of them [new signings].”
Thomas Tuchel also admitted there was nothing more in Kalidou Koulibaly’s cramp, as he left the pitch late on.
Tuchel said: “Koulibaly struggled a bit with the physicality because he came late and lacked a bit of training.
“Raheem was very strong, and I’m very happy with the 20 minutes from Cucurella. It was very important for us.”
Congrats to the Boys
Congratulations for that, now give us the results!
